FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Famed Dallas Pastor, Dr. Frederick D. Haynes, III, Releases New Book Titled, Healing Our Broken Village, which Deals With the Issues That Have Left the Black Community Broken

Healing Our Broken VillageATLANTA, (October 21, 2008) - Famed Dallas pastor, Dr. Frederick D. Haynes, III, expounds throughout the pages of his newest book, Healing Our Broken Village, the problems that are leaving the black community of America broken, not only as a whole, but individually. Dr. Haynes also shows us through the pages of this book the biblical solutions to these problems, and empowers us to strive to put our broken village back together, based upon the Word of God.

Dr. Haynes says, "Within the walls of our broken village there are broken families. Absent parents, drug and alcohol addiction, emotional and psychological abuse, sexual abuse and dysfunction, chronic health issues, racism, low self-esteem, fear and anger are all a reflection of the brokenness that exists in our community. You were born with many of these issues flowing through your bloodstream which have become hereditary, affecting future generations in your family. There is a need for a solution that heals this sickness. Healing Our Broken Village dares to take a bold look at the sicknesses and symptoms affecting men, women and children within our village, the Black community. Regardless of who you are, what hand you were dealt in life, who abused and mistreated you, whatever system has failed you, God commissioned you with the purpose to be an answer to the problem. Before we can seriously raise this next generation, we have to deal with the realities of our broken village."

The chapters are taken from eleven powerful, thought-provoking sermons that Dr. Haynes preached in a series titled, Healing our Broken Village at the Friendship-West Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, where he pastors. Some of the dynamic titles include:
  • My Family is a Hot Mess
  • You were Born to Blow Up
  • There’s Some Music We Just Can’t Dance To
  • What’s up with the Down-Low?
  • Don’t Set Your Queen up to be a "Ho"
Through the pages of this book, Dr. Haynes shows us how our "village" is broken because of dysfunction, crime, violence, homosexuality, sexual abuse, fear, and abandonment. He shows us that there is hope and a prescription for these issues that we deal with. By the time you finish reading this book, your mind will be stimulated to think about the situation around you and to help make changes under the power of God to put our broken village back together and to live the abundant life that God designed for us to live.
